The studbook for Lipizzaner breed may be entered only by purebred Lipizzaner horses of a known origin, whose parents are listed in the book, led by recognized breeding organizations of Lipizzaner breed and are in a direct line descendant of recognized stud lines and recognized line of mares, in which they belong.

Horses from Lipica Stud Farm are enlisted in Lipica Stud Book breeding programme which is run by Stud Lipica independently. The Lipica Stud book enlists only animals owned by Lipica Stud Farm.

II the main part - Stud Book of Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding Association (ZRLS)
Horses owned by members of ZRLS are enlisted in Stud Book of Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding Association breeding programme which is run by Stud Lipica in association with ZRLS. Stud Lipica cooperates with ZRLS in monitoring of the breeding of Lipizzaner horses, providing the necessary number of stallions and the necessary quantities of breeding stallions’s seed for breeding mares of members and professional advisory.
